I already posted those in the camapign thread as some sort of AAR and thank you for the great cmapaign but thought it also belongs here. I hope you enjoy them...
Take Off at Henderson for heading out towards the CAP area over the Russel Islands (Got to cheat here as this mission did not include droptanks but I lost the iamges from takeoff...)
After a long and action less CAP, sun already closed in to the horizon and drop tanks already lost, we eventually got one of those light twin engine bombers keeping our jarheads awake at Guadalcanal. My leader already battered him and I'm moving in for another punch
After buzzing him vertically I roll around to see if he got enough...
...only to find him still going
Seconds later flight leader brought him down. I do a last check over the open sea but as we can'T find anything moving it's time to move out
When we went feet dry again the sun already vanished and only some few last rays sneak around the horizon sparkling in the bellies of our 'Sairs
About the same time we got informed a second twin mot, a Betty, reached the vincity of Henderson. Must have taken the northern route via Santa Isabel and Florida Islands
He appeared too early for us but the remaining light allowed the Triple-A teams to bring him down. All left for us is the still smoking wreck in the jungle
We're called in for landing and I'm doing al ast round over the field to get into the pattern
Two more from other missions:
Family Portrait
Sparkling
Kitten leaving it's basket
Thanks for looking!
