Wing Commander 'Johnnie' Johnson had a Spitfire made up from spares and wrecked Spitfires while commanding 147 Wing RAF
and marked as JE-J(jr) with the serial MK329, the same as his own A/C. It showed on no Airforce books as it didn't exist.
This A/C was unarmed and was famously used to transport barrels of beer across the English Channel to his Squadrons in
France soon after D-Day.

BTW I got told this story ages ago and that there where photos of this spit and others, dose any one know if that's true?

It's true, Johnson describes it in his book 'Wing Leader'

Unfortunatally 'Junior' was written of in a crash, and only one photo was ever taken of the A/C

Very much true. There are a number of photos of the Spits carrying their 'special cargo'
