some online testing with 8 humans:
I have the MOD, the other seven don't.
One of those 7 is hosting.
We all take a slot,
game starts
The seven pilots ar ligned up on the runway as usual.
I spawn "somewhere" else on the airfield, not even on a runway.
This means i have to de-activate the MOD to be compatible on take off with my m8's.
it also means the MOD has an influence on MY game-behaviour online if a host has not the MOD.
Would be great if this could be solved.

My buddy and I flew together on Tuesday night as we always do. I had put this mod in and the exact same thing happened. Also, when I hosted, I started where I was supposed to as laid out in my mission, while he started at the end of the runway that the take off icon was closest to just the same as always.

Unfortunately my buddy is averse to putting in mods that mess with his rather extensive line of missions so I disabled mine until such time as I can convince him of the advantages of it.

The only thing I found, as I posted above, is to place the take off icon within 50m of the centre point of the runway on the opposite side you want the planes to start from. This way, if you have the mod all the planes will start from the right end of the runway and, if you don't have the mod, all the planes will start from the right end of the runway as well.

If you don't have the mod and place the icons within 50m of the centre point of the runway, those with the mod will start from the right end of the runway etc...

Now, the trick is to convince your mates to either a) get the mod, or b) place the icons properly for those who do have the mod.

With all this in mind, is there some way to increase the influence distance to say, 100m? Just about all the airfield/airports/airbases I've seen have aprons or revetments more than that distance away and you could still start from them. On such maps as The Slot where parking spots are all along the runway you could just place stationary a/c within the 100m to justify starting further away.

What I'm thinking here is a little psychology: we all want things to be easy and right now you have to do more work placing icons very accurately.

Congratulations! It sounds like it is a very important step forward in IL-2s modded evolution!

Now all we need is for the AI to negotiate the taxiways and safely get onto the runways to take off properly, rather than just taking off from wherever they are.

And the step after that is to have AI pilots running to their unmanned aircraft and performing a full ramp-start!

LOL Imagine the carnage and grim faces if you accidentally took an AIs aircraft because he is a slow runner Wink

hahaha very interesting, but abaut running in panes its impresive... vith no choices of planes ofcourse. It will be nice to watch these pilots runnings and explodes around airfield.....

Must be some new ambient, new actions to watch.

Can downloads go bad? I've downloaded this program and it doesn't seem to work. I've followed the directions to the "T" and it still doesn't work. I've used the Alpen, Slot and Midway maps. I haven't tried the rest of the maps yet. Any suggestions will be greatly apreciated. Best Regards

I tried spawn points all over the airstrip area, near and far. And still the aircraft's appear on the airstrip ready to take off. Thank you for your response, best regards. Big Grin

Real nice, but jet planes, their engines cant be started when spawning somewhere else than the proper take-off points, I would really like to see this "fixed" so we could start those engines where we want.

What would really be good is this. Have the ability to set the normfly waypoints from 0 alt and 0 speed, this would then allow A/C to taxi on the ground. Big Grin

A little problem. when i put the planes on the runway, they don't line up like they are supposed to. even when i change waypoints to takeoff and it snaps on the runway by itself, the planes still don't lne up and they are scrambled everywhere

Now that the Channel map is up and running, this mod would be a great thing to have. I unfortunately missed it the first time. Could you repost it so we can scramble our spitfires in proper form, mate?
