CONGRATULATIONS Mr.Oblongo Big Grin

I'm trying mine out today

Did you have any problems loading?

No, no problemas at all! Specially considering some of the size of the maps...

Make sure to have a Map_f and a ed_m03.tga because most of the load.ini use those... well, at least the ones im using.

I can make one of these "templates" in like 30 minutes now Tongue Confusedhock: Works Flawless.

Still must figure out how to make Lakes...
Also wondered how to reedit the elevation map of an existing stock map with a SRTM data one...(New Guinea comes into mind).

How to make a 1:2 or 3:4 map? Change the pixel size to 100 or 75 ??

Confusedhock: im a sea of questions.

I asked Kevin if I needed an edm_03 but he thought I didn't need it as the map_c is only around
1889 kb

I wondered about this as Mymap_c was around 50mb

I hope to get mine going soon

I still get that old posted message about exception java run time error

Probably start from scratch again Tomorrow

I am glad that Mr. Oblongo has had some success.

At one time it did load up after many tries and redoing things JUST ONCE to let me see what was wrong with it.
I noticed that the edo1.02 were doing thier job it looked nice

Then moved to the map SHOCK and AWE There was ground were there should have been water no coast line at all. I got greenish islands though so I was happy about that.

I haven't been able to load it up since that first and last brief moment in time.

Start afresh with a smaller project then at a later date continue with Vanuatu.

Hi Kirby

At least you know how to use Microdem & the map_c converter. These are the most important things.
All the other stuff is easy in comparison.
Sad

With map_T

When you do the rgb value of 31

You select by colour the the white broken lines appear then you bucket fill the ocean areas
Correct

Now do you invert as the same procedure in map-c to make the land rgb 7

When I do this the rgb 31 is a greyish colour and the land is black

Then go back and click none to get the white broken lines off the coast.

Doing the original map in the tutorial today.

Still wondering if also a slight conf.ini problem.

Cheers Kirby

Still persisting until I have something load up correctly.

Hi Kirby

Yes. You have it right. The water looks a greyish colour & the land looks black.

I have plenty of time for this

as I have six weeks off before the new Thai school year.

So I should hopefully have something today with the original island from the tutorial.

I just tried doing Manam Island this morning

Still the same message

I have a list of the RGB values aleady

I still think it is a conf.ini thing

I had a problem with full FMB doing what the instructions say to no aval.

Fred gave me his builder.ini and conf.ini then full FMB worked properly.

I know of a few other guys having the same prob for full fmb not many though

So even though I have lost Fred's inis I still have to hunt around for them

For me they were the best

Thanks Mr.Oblongo for you conf.ini and build.ini files.
I got blue water in the FULL FMB
But I also got the same message when I loaded up Manam

Kevin all that I have running in MapMaker is a arodo float plane and a UTVS I've teken everything out. Flying wise.

In the Modmaps folder I just have Manam and Upper Burma from F.F.

If your interested and have time

Would you like an upload link to a 4shared account for your mapmaker game file.

With the Manam map I did not do the lava flow I just made the island as I wanted to see if it would come up

Still getting the java script message error

Anything to do with java?

I don't understand what you want. Do you want to send me your map builder folder, or do you want me to send you mine? :?

Can you open HB_PacificIslands in the map builder game, does it look OK?

Yes,
The Pacific Islands map is fine. It loads up perfectly.
Blue water and everything.

Manam is just not loading I went over the instructions carefully this morning for about 2 hours and got the exact size of 316kb I know I can do this.

I noticed you helped a guy out with your own game folder of your Map Maker game he had success with that.

I can provide you an upload link for your game folder I know yours is 3 gig in size. I have five gig available.

Upload should take not too much time. It will be my time from downloading from 4shared.com

Thank you KevinP for the fantastic tutorial - I followed the instructions exactly and it loaded the first time - I played around with some textures, added a village and fully functional airfield, and was flying around my new map all within a couple of hours of starting. My complements on a job well done.

One question I have - if I understand - following this process will always give you a 1:1 scale map, correct?

On to Crete.

Can you try something first. I can send you my Manam map so you can see if it works. If not, then I will send my game.
