[MOD] "WIP" XP-86 Sabre v1.02 *update* need skinne

Dietz Wrote:WOW!
Is there one post that icludes all the install instructions for this to install properly or does the original posting now pretty much say it all?
You should be fine with the original post. The file XP-86_v1.01.zip is the latest version atm, so no need to download the fix afterwards.

I hope that the next time I go over to my grandmother's house, I can get the photo of my grandfather and his squad standing in front of an F-86 back when he was a Staff Sergeant. Having a flyable F86 brings back memories of him.

Swell job. Any chance we'll see a sliding canopy?
Great work. Like the slogan says: The quality goes in before the name goes on. Keep up the good work.

Stu,

How do I add these helmets so that the pilot is wearing them?

hi duffys tavern,

There is a file called helmet1.tga in the XP-86 plane folder, just save the helmet as helmet1.tga and replace it. I'll upload a set tonight with the folder order included still have a couple to finish. Football first I'm afraid tonight.

Every time i increase the power at all, the engine turns off. No fire or anything, and it doesnt matter how much or how slowly i increase the power, but no engine.
Its fine decreasing the power though...
You haven't used the P-80 much I guess. It's a "feature" of the P-80 engine (which this aircraft uses, read the first post in this thread). You can overcome this by running it at 99% or just up to 100%, if you try to go past 100% it will most likely shut down.

Thanks for that.
No, not really a p-80 fan, but I'll bear that in mind now. Good work btw...

A little frustrating when you lose the nose and all your guns at once though Tongue

(Kidding - great work peter)

Since we have a template now, I tried my hand at a plane. Maj JJ Jabara, 334 FS 22 Kills. It still needs a lot of work. I made a few modifications by adding a kick step and an exhaust vent, but I'm no Template builder, so if someone can make a more detailed template, let me know. I love this plane.

Nice skin but I'd say dim down the rivets a bit, the way they were on the original metal was great and i know u want to have rivets over the paint as well so i suggest u put the opacity down to 20-30% or so, at the moment it stands out too much like huge lines.
