Maybe cos the 3.7cm cannons of the stuka shot Armor Percing ammo and the Mk108 shot explosive ammo...
yeah i noticed with other airplanes with the BK that when the rounds hit the ground they do explode and leave a crater. i forgot exactly which ones. one of them i remember had every 3rd round or so explode on impact, the rest wouldn't. it is obviously simulating AP & HE rounds...different airplanes in game have just AP, just HE, or both for the BK. The Stuka only has AP. It'd be cool if you could select which one in the loadout screen.
Yeah when you see that video online, it looks like a fountain raises 40 meters into the sky.
In the video online, they are shooting at landing craft. For this job they used HE rounds, not AP like we have in the game.
I think they are AP ( Armour peircing) bullets. They dont explode.
All AP shells above 20mm in the german armed forces have an explosive filling.
Only some shells (ex. AP40, tungsten core, sub caliber ) don't have explosive fillings.
And i bet my shiny metal ass that the shells used in the stuka are normal AP shells.
So what you see in the original videos is correct (logical) and what we have in IL2 is incorrect.
If various types of shells were used then lets make a MOD with the two types of shells for the Stuka , AP and HE. This should end the discussion lol.
