Sure, and maybe, if you fly very low near your house, you should see your grand'ma saying "Hello" at the window

My house was a field in 1940s. I'm in Caulnes since 1996. Was in L'Ile D'Yeu before, where Marechal Petain was jailed and died.

VF101hawk, are you talking about the famous BBC sitcom?

Ignoring the last few crazy, confusing posts.. here are a couple of pics to show how I'm revamping my RAF airfields. Below are the famous and very important Kenley and Biggin Hill.

Sorry about that Joe, will try to keep focus on your map, most important thing Smile

That's look f*ckin' great, sorry fo my French

Just two questions:

- Are houses we can see on Kenley pict auto-populated?

- What is the width of taxiway? They look small, like a road and a half / two roads... or maybe it is just because hangars are enormous

Absolutely amazing, Canon. You're setting a new bar in the standard for modded maps!

Are you using textures or plates for these airfields?

Just wondering a little.
When we look at this map and others for that sake we see from above what looks like a forrest or clusters of trees.
You fly down and there is no trees but they are a flat image on the tile.
Further away there are trees in 3d.

Wouldnt it be better looking if the flat image on the tile accually got covered with trees instead of just being a flat image and where theire are 3d trees just remove them??
Or keep some as i guess the image the tile is made up of is of newer date and have less forrest then in 1940.

Or maybe this is a task that is to large to undertake??

just asking!!!!

Here is the info about the painting:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fallen_Madonna
It makes the last posts a bit more comprehensive for those who have never seen this BBC "comedy".

But let's forget about that and stay on topic.

Is that Downe village I see in the background? Remember to put in Charles Darwin's mansion and garden!

Hi Joe

Great work you are doing. Will be a pleasure to fly - especially with your eye for attention to detail.

One remark / question though. All the RAF buildings I have seen from the 1930's like officer's mess's, married quarters all have slate type roofs with square tiles. This is true of Kenley, Biggin Hill, North Weald, Hornchurch, etc.

Please see here - http://www.knightfrankglobal.com/kenley/brochure.pdf - Kenley Officer's mess sale brochure.

Or Hornchurch Officer's mess - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/bd/031OM.JPG or Officers quarters - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/88/032OQ.JPG.

Some other Kenley information you may find useful - http://www.croydon.gov.uk/contents/depa ... oposa1.pdf

You went for a red tile roof. Sorry if this is a work in progress and am commenting on something already changed.

Best Regards

Andrew
