[MOD] Vin_Island Now available for download [Beta]

This is my first MapMod here, so I hope you like it...
It's an unhistorical Island based on the Online7islands map.
For fun or for war, you can use it for everything ...

ATTENTION!!!

You will need these mods:

Il2 V.4.09
AAA Unifided installer V.1.1
DLV Egypt objects
DLV Infantry
LAL_RONE'S HANGAR MOD 1+2

You need to download the Grand Canyon map:

viewtopic.php?t=14970&highlight=grand+canyon

Then you need to go to the texture file, find "gc_whitecalk", copy it to the new Florida textures, and then
the map is compatible.


Too bad the shallow water looks a little edged on some locations but I can't fix It :oops:

The colour of the shallow water is just gorgeous

Hi Vin. Great looking map. Big Grin In your read me you gave me credit for the ocean color, I'm greatful you mentioned me but I only did the shallow water textures for my mods. The Ocean color is from Viking. Also, I cant wait to see your florida map. I grew up there. Big Grin

The map wont load for me and I found the problem. This tgs is not there "MidLand1 = land/summer/Florida_textures/gc_whitechalk.tga" There is a white chalk in land/summer. Did you mean to use that path or did you create that texture and it didnt get added to your tex folder?

One thing that could be beneficial is a method for testing a Map. Authors, after, checking with said method would then submit as WIP and after bugs were fixed it would go to complete Mod.

Said method would cover from the proper file naming, directory structure, overwrite warnings, as well as other points to be checked.

Kapteeni pointed that important thread with name convention and dir structure:
(The link is inoperative)

My idea is to have that info and a method to test the Map candidate in a file - (.pdf maybe?)


Does anyone with knowledge feel like writing the procedure?

I really wanna start with the Florida map :mrgreen: , but there are two problems. :???: ..

First one: I need a good DEM of the part of Florida I gonna make,
Second one: for a good Florida map I will need a good pack of US style houses and I haven't got any
experience in 3D... if someone perhaps could create it... :rocks:

This map will not load in FMB for me... it says there is a Load.ini problem ... and yes... I do have the grand canyon map...unles there was an update to that which I never got.
