Hey redarrows2006, I just stumbled across this thread again and saw your questions.
OS is operating system as you guessed, and UAC is user access control - ya know when vista/windows7 screen goes black then asks you if you want to allow a program to do what you just told it to? - thats the UAC, and I hated it. a guide to disable it can be found here for windows 7:
