However, when -OWL- puts up something like this, we all want to punch him in the face. Lol.

DONT TROLL, THIS IS JUST A COMMENT!!!!
Do we? After the owls skin thread no-one should punch him. That plane is not an modern jet, it is from 50's. Good luck for GJE52 with the project.

The reason I only put this up on SAS and not here was because of the flak I have seen others subjected to over "unacceptable - wrong era" mod ideas. There is already a hint of that in this thread. This aircraft was in development alongside the Sabre and like the Sabre served in several conflicts after the 1950s with other nations. I know the Australians flew it in that unmentionable conflict in South East Asia. F86s and Hunters clashed during the Indian/Pakistan conflicts and there were some Middle East engagements.

That said, this one is really for me and it will take a long time to convert the initial visual model and all it's sub meshes into something of a similar standard to the F84, Panther, F86 or the MiG. Fortuneatly some very talented people like Flak and PeterD to name just a couple, have been generous to offer up some great aircraft and eased the path for mere "apprentices" like me.

I know I will need also help later on with the FM etc and other files that I cannot access. This is a learning process so please do not keep asking for updates, it will take as long as it takes me to get it right (hopefully). It goes without saying that I, like all mod contributors here, will be more than happy to share the end result with anyone who will enjoy it.

Having a now natural curiosity about the sound barrier in IL-2, I found this site that will calculate your mph or kph (or knots) into mach http://www.globalaircraft.org/converter.htm

By one snapshot I took of my Sabre hurtling toward earth, I was doing mach 1.01.

I could imagine someone a lover of the golden age of jets looking at the B 47 with interest Tongue

I love this sim Big Grin
