[WIP] Natter Rocket Interceptor
#16

Yes this project has been WIP for a while at SAS. The basic 3D model is finished from what I understand, but the skinning and LODs/Damage models are yet to be done, as are the FM and classes. Probably best to contact Jagr at SAS and see if you guys can work to together. Heres the thread http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,474.0.html

I've actually had a big ponder about this project and how to get it to work. I think the best way would be to create an object that has the catapult code in it (like the carrier mod). As for the booster rockets, you can tell the classfile to take these off at a certain stage (speed, amount of fuel etc). As for the nosecone covering the rockets, you can use the open bombay doors command but put in classes a method that removes it due to speed (much like you can with opening canopy code).

Still haven't got the vertical takeoff part sorted though Tongue

I think taking off with disposable wheels as Komet misses the point of Natter design: it is basically a human-guided re-usable SAM.

Now, for a start, I think it is not so bad idea and even may inspire some "what if" scenarios about alternative launchings. Now, I don

Little Rivalry never hurt. Plus, its always good to have duplicates, especially if its not on this forum. As theirs assumes that the Germans WOULD have had the means of creating seperate airframes, despite the constant bombardment of the industrial sectors. Mine on the other hand, utalizes a modified DO frame, which would have been realitively simple to convert.

PS: The SAS one is no longer active.....the guys computer kicked ye ol'bucket
