well i definately get better frames thats for sure. loading time is a fraction of AAA 1.1. but to be honest..it doesnt look as good as when im runnin my fully modded AAA version 1.1 . the sound files are changed and i cant the folder theyre in to change them now. im really not quite sure of its benefits.

i made a dual install of IL2 just to run this to see how it is. i didnt want to mess up my AAA modded version i regularly use when co-op'ing with my squadron mates.

can you install any of the regular MODs we have like HG&P's and Swaggers stuff in this version?..if so...where? mods folder ? they did do a nice job loading ALL the maps. i dont seem to be missing anything at all.

what does the "history" mod do?

first impressions...


took me two days and nights but :

all my customized mods (mostly cockpits) are set and working fine ( lots of work here required though)

HG& P uranium mod works

QMB+ also working ( it reverts QMB gui to older one though ... you lose new options , but it's fair trade IMO)

font mod ,custom Gui , map frame and map icons working

all desired maps added and work fine (specially Benghalli :-) )

... and game does load fast as hell , sounds are more stable etc.

if adding future new planes won't cause too much trouble ( updated buttons and all of that ) i'm seriously considering having HSFX based installation as my main one .

So once again , many thanks to all involved in HSFX project ... it is rather big step forward in IL2 modding IMHO

I hate the sounds....they arent good at all, can anyone tell me how i can install the JAFA sounds??

Besides that everything looks great, plenty of new planes, mods etc. Great mod....just crappy sounds...

I'm pretty big fan of Jafa sounds ... been using them since day one loaded via Mods folder ( both UI versions) so i believe you can do the same with HSFX ( just make sure all prs and wav files match HSFX requirement ... file names etc. )

I've got them working via Mods folder but haven't got time to test every plane/ weapon so far ... so i can't say for sure

Well i made a fix for UI 1.2 but never uploaded it since it was JAFA's original sounds. I converted all the good PRS sound files so I could have all the good sounds I had in UI 1.1 took a couple hours but worked great. I saved them all so i can use them with HSFX. How do I find out the sound requirements for HSFX?? Since its a different setup....I had no trouble with the Files folder before but sound looks different in HSFX...can you give me some simple instructions on how to find which PRS the planes would be using and how i setup the mod folder properly??

to be able to compare prs files you need HSFX ones extracted ... so do the same as with original game sfs's

btw, did you try running game with default sounds chosen (JSGM) and your customized sounds present in Mods folder ? That way any possible conflict between HSFX and Jafa sounds should be avoided ( just speculating here )

As for structure goes .... Mods folder still overrides sfs files and Files folder so just place your files in Mods folder

...gameroot\MODS"anything you like"\presets\sounds\ & ...gameroot\MODS"anything you like"\samples\...

sfs files ( archives) are normal game files only compressed ... you need extractor for accessing them .

googleing sfs extractor should do the trick ...

Hmmmm, I'm a little gutted as I have UI 1.2 all sweet and working, all the mods I want installed, BUT, the new P-47 model and drop tanks are in HSFX 4.1 along with the P-38's. That is all I really want from the install and it seems a lot to download for such a tiny part and then have to go through all the enabling/ disabling options again!

So-far I have 6x IL2 installs....blimey, can I cope with another one?

HSFX loads extremely quickly, and has good sound and FMs. The only question I have is how to use the Radar Control B29. I played around with it for a while but oculdn't figure anything out...?
