Hi Kevin,
I'm not sure that cent med map is good to an historycal rebuild of operation corkscrew, for two reason:
- first I know that some bombing run against Pantelleria started from Lybia, that it's not in the map;
- second Pantelleria had two airfield, the main Margana (you can find by google earth) and a very short one called Spadillo that it's not in the map.
Don't want to spit on Maraz work to whom all my compliments go, but I'm sure that it can be done better.
Only best efforts of my mind and time are what I need to do a new cent_med.
I'll try with Manan first, only afterwards I can tell if I'll start on not.
Bye

now to the topic...
I have access to photoshop and started making the manam tut map with it. However, it's throwing my colors of, what is a big problem when I'm making map_t.tga. (ie: I've made that rgb 31 and 7 colors, but after I paint the area it turns to RGB 32 and 6)
Has anyone used photoshop with success? If so, how did you solve the anti aliasing problem? I understand GIMP is a freeware, but I'll try to use what I already have.

I think most people who make maps use Photoshop so it must be possible. I don't know much about Photoshop, I only used it once & didn't get on with it very well. I suggest you post your question in the Map Mods discussion section, I'm sure there are plenty of Photoshop experts there who can help.
Cheers

Hello.
I build a map because of this wonderful tutorial.
All worked fine until i tryed to start a mission on it.
The planes jump up when i spawm.
What have i done wrong ????
I don't know what's wrong. Can you send me your map & I will see if I can find the problem.
Hi manpferd
I loved the video, looks like you made that island from your own imagination.
The brown texture in the water is not your fault, it's something to do with the Unified Installer, it makes all water look like that. I have tried searching through all the Mods in Ui 1.1 to find out which one is causing this effect but I could not find it.
You need to put your map in a game without the Unified Installer or try & find which Mod is causing this.
Hi kevinp
Thanks for this. If it is not my fault it is o.k. for me.
Have a nice weekend.
Regards, Manpferd
Hello
I follow the tutorial Map building Tutorial . All seems to be fine but when i fly the map the water (sea, rivers, lagoons...) doesn't have the behavior of water, seems like soil (for example, the plane can landing on water)
Really i don't now whats seems to be the problem, its the first map i have created.
Thanks in advance

I just finished Part 1 of your remarkable tutorial v3 succesfully, by creating the Manam map, at which I can create missions in FMB and fly afterwards, landing of A6M2 N on the sea without any trouble. There is, however, a curious phenomenon : my map_c.tga size is 321 kB comparing to yours 65 kB. Other my files are of the same size as yours. I used Map_C_Toolbox_1.1.0.msi . Just curious, what might be the reason, and if there will be some troubles in the future.
I uploaded my map_c.tga to the link you gave above.
Best regards.
Laziness is the mother of progress. My QMB missions can be found here:

Hi Uzin
The reason for your map_c being so big is because the water is not black, it's dark grey (RGB 38 to be precise). This means the Map_C Toolbox is treating all the sea as though it's shallow water, like you find around the coastline.
If you've read the bit in my tutorial where I explain how map_c works then you will understand that the Map_C_Toolbox is saving all the empty water areas instead of removing them.
It doesn't really cause any trouble except that large maps will take longer to load.
Hope that helped
Cheers
