Your Toryu is really taking shape a great job. Looks like you are being very careful to keep the poly count down too. Look forward to flying it sometime next quarter. Smile

Never mind the speed of the project. The end result is what counts!

This will be a VERY welcome addition to the game! I am awaiting this eagerly - but with patience.

thx mates!
now that this step is almost made,i was thinking of the weapons:
for the ventral ho 3:200 rounds in total (two double barrels of 2x50) i think the ho 3 is not yet in the game.it s quite different than the ho5 so it would be very nice to make it.in fact, the muzzle velocity is higher than ho5(but rate of fire inferior),and the shells biggers with a better penetrating power.combinated with the ho 203 on front fire, this is quite devastating...
two upward firing ho5:after searching,i found 150 or 200 rounds each gun.
ho 203:rarely 25 rounds drums were seen .it was mostly 15 rounds so,i dont know...of course it would be cool to have 25 37mm rounds for the baby...
maybe we could do 2 armament versions:
all guns loaded and ho 203 with the usual drum
a big drum and,for example no ho5 upward firing ammunitions...
what do you guys think about it??

i dont have the same infos(ive done serious researches on the toryu for more than a year on my free time)
about the kaiA(KO) that you describe,a lot of conversions were made to put a manually loaded 37mm anti tank cannon in the ventral position(this was the type isamu kashiide flought in)
about the one you call "kaibu",its the kaiB or kai OTSU(in japanese,A is KO,B is OTSU,C is HEI,D is TEI)it received in the nose a ho 203 and the cannon went out of the nose(if you dont beleive me,see the ancient topic of corsairs frankenplane ,every thing has been told)
about the kai C,nobuji negishi and hannonshin nishio had 2 ho5 and a ho 203 on their kai hei model.
about the kai tei,the only toryu which still survive is a TEI (eszterhazy museum, pics are easy to find)you can easily see the 2 ho5 in dorsal, the ho 203 in the nose and the ventral tunnel with the ho 3
plus, the kai tei is described in the maru mechanism of military aircraft n6(a serious technical japanese book)
ho 203,ho3,2 ho5.

It could probably be a good idea to do two armament versions:

1. One early version, without the oblique firing guns. It was the one the Allies met in, say, New Guinea and other similar places

2. The KAIc, with those famous oblique firing guns. The variant mainly encountered over the Japanese homeland.

And if you are only doing one version, the first one would be most useful, campaign- and mission-wise.

But that is only my 2-cents.

Anyway, if you just complete this BEAUTY I will be happy enough with just one, no matter what variant!!! Big Grin

bascally,i dont think it would be a complicated operation to do 2 types(one one version, pull out the ho5 dorsal cannons amunitions and increase ho 203 s)
lets do it that way!!
i so much want to blast four engined with this bird we missed so much....
there is still work to do but im more motivated than ever
update soon!!!
