Hello and a Happy New Year!
I too face the following problems ( Cannot load the map; after hitting shift&tab I get this):
INTERNAL ERROR: Can.t open file 'MAPS/_Tex?land/summer/bob_fields_1.tga,-1
INTERNAL ERROR: LoadTextureFromTga ('MAPS/_Tex/land/summer/bob_fields_1.tga'
I have all object packs installed, also installed yours according to instructions
Any clues would be more than welcome as this is an awesome map!

Look at _Tex/land/summer folder if you've bob_fields_1.tga into. It should be a Canon's texture.

'MAPS/_Tex?land/summer/ = is this a typo error in load.ini, perhaps?

EDIT------> read load.ini (or wathever is named) and look if you've all named textures with correct path

I've installed this gorgeous map on UI1.2 time ago and all works ok.

I have the textures in Tex/land/summer/Cannon_Channel; they are actually named Compans_Bob..etc, so I renamed them in the Hawaii map load.ini; still I get the same message, this time, with the addition of the Compans prefix.

When I got a load error in my HSFX install I found thanks to Fly I was missing some textures as you are, so with his directions I looked in my previous install (AAA UI 1.2) and found under mapmods/maps/_Tex a file called land, that was completely missing from the HSFX _Tex folder. I made a copy of it from my U.I, 1.2 install and drop it into my HSFX _Tex folder and error disappeared. TC

I donnnot have an HSFX installation. My gane is a clean install 4.09m, SAS activated; I have Canon UK's Channel map, which is fully functional

Are the load.ini entry listed in your maps/all.ini, I have these 2 entries in my all.ini. TC

Congratulations guys!

Just installed some missing things from UI1.1 and UI1.2 and now i can fly this maps.

This is so beautiful work ! So many nice things, so intelligently well populated, bildings according to textures and all the stuff.

This is without any doubt one of the most beautiful map of the game !! Big Grin .

I will take a look tomorrow to Mauna Kea. Textures are fine...maybe the effort should go to the geological aspect of the map like the mounts and volcanoes.

This map doen't need to be repainted imho. Maps i repainted are because of the bad quality of the stock ones. Compare stock Okinawa, Iwo, Kyushu and now Palau : the repaint was indispensable to bring back to real life these alf craps...sorry bad maps Wink.

But this one is a real treasure. The only thing is that if we want to get a better decription of the natural geology of the place we will have to change all the textures ONLY for that reason, because my textures wouldn't fit with the rest the difference will be to easy to see. This is the only valid reason to make a "repaint" but in itself this map is jewel

So i just took a ride over Mauna Kea and surroundings ... what a huge mount Confusedhock: . Never went to Hawaii but that must to nice and impressive to that Confusedhock: Confusedhock: .

Mmm...so this so huge that to describe it completely as real volcano it would need 3 or 4 texture slots to avoid to repetive effects. It's gonna make problems for the rest of the map, i have to check how many slots textures Porto used for the reste, Oahu's lands and cities, mounts....We will see.

Does anyone know what sfs file is in charge of the ground textures ? I want to use the same sk textures for cities and just repaint with my colours : this will allows me the keep the same structure, without moving a single bilding as Porto's work is perfect for that !

Wonderful Map! I love it... I would also love to see what redko may produce with his great skill in his repaint! I was waiting for his repaint for the standard Hawaii that looked very promising: I love the red ground and the black rocks... This Map IS the standard Hawii map now! Wink

Problem solved! Big Grin I renamed the bob_fields.tga lines in the map's load.ini to SL_bob_fields.tga, according to those I found in my mapmods/maps/Tex/land/summer folder. This enabled me to load the map. Then, I realized that I only had insterted the relevant lines for the Infantry Mod but NOT the mod itself in my mods folder. So I did, and I can now enjoy this work of art! Many thanks again to the map makers and to all those that offered advise! 8)

Sorry, only now I did get redko lines about the repaint: I completely agree this map looks already quite good, I'm convinced the repaint he made for the standard Hawaii is still looking a tad better than this map, so I'm still hoping he may apply his talent for some as limited as it may repaint here as well.
