HSFX won't work
#16

One thing I just noticed, I have now two il2 folders one labeled Ubisoft, the other labeled Ubi Soft, one is for il2 1946 the other is for il2 fb, respectively. HSFX is installed into the former. Could this be the cause of my issue?

Probably. If having two folders is a surprise to you, then it sounds like one or both of the HSFX installs went to the wrong place.

So which one do i install it to? If I install it to the FB folder it just dosn't work period ( I enable the mods and start up il2 and it goes to 4.09m no hsfx) and in the 1946 folder I get my current issue. I'm getting very frustrated, and I appreciate the help I have gotten from you all so far. I just don't know what I am doing wrong.

The game starting in russian im not to concerned about (that can be fixed fairly easily). My main concern is that the game shuts down completely after about ten seconds. I switch the mod off and it works fine.

azz, did you unzip the installer package to another location first and then run it? If not, this could be part of the problem.
Use the folder called 1946. Did you test to see if HSFX was working with 4.0 before you installed 4.1?

I only have 4.0. I wasn't planning on getting 4.1 until i got 4.0 to work.

OK. Exactly how are you setting up HSFX? Are you enabling it in JSGME ? Without enabling 4.09?

Yeah me too...the game crushes in a few seconds...and the loading is in russian, but the main problem is that it's impossible to play..now i will tray to unzip the mod files, but they seem to be good...the installation seems complet and correct...I can't understand what is the problem...i tried a lot of times...and still got nothing

However it's impossible to unzip the files after download...they seem ready to use after the download from torrent...the installation preocedure seems correct and the mod is installed in the same folder of il2 1946...I enabled HSFX in the JSGME and everytime I enable it, the game starts in russian and crash down after few seconds...untill patch 4.09m the game runs perfect.
I followed all the procedure...first of all I updated to version 4.071m, then to 4.08m and finally to 4.09m...it's really frustrating

Your game ran fine in 4.09m?
When I downloaded the torrent, I got a torrent file which I had to unload into it's own folder in my downloads folder which it called "il21946". I then went into that folder and found another folder called "HSFX4" which contained 5 zip files and 2 .exe files. I clicked on the first .exe (installer), and directed it to install to my game's folder, which contained a working copy of 4.09m. Then I opened JSGME and enabled "hsfx history mod".
Is this how you did it? If so, I'm baffled.

Hi, again, guys

Well, I have been following the conversations and decided that now is a good time to assist here because several of you just need to be pointed in the right direction.

I have a help topic about the essentials of handling a mod pack-specifically the UI mod pack, but many of the things in the post apply to other mod packs as well. Look about half way down the page of the link to my multicolored text. Likely there is something in my post that you are not doing, simple.

The name of the post is "Mods Download Help Here...

(The link is inoperative)

Consider getting one mod pack, such as HSFX 4.1 for online flying compatibility and another mod pack ( or copy ) for offline mods collecting and experimenting. That way you will increase the probability or avoiding conficts of mod installation which could delay you joining online at times.

Join a squadron if you are an onliner because they can give you one on one help in TeamSpeak-talk through your computer. We have a Squadron List Sticky Topic in the Announcements Forum.

Let us know what solution that you think you found for your particular problem, for the sake of those readers out there.

Enjoy the ever growing collection of mods! Big Grin

I have 1946 on disc not d2d. Does the d2d patch still apply to me?

Yes, that is exactly how I did it. And believe me I'm just as baffled as you are.

I appreciate the help from everyone, I really do, but I'm just gonna reinstall U.I. HSFX is more trouble than it's worth.
