Dynamic Lights for Explosions
#1

I want to reduce the amount of time the dynamic lights are "switched on" when an explosion occurs. Currently, an explosion will light up the surrounding area for around 0.5 seconds. I want to reduce this to about 0.1 seconds to give more of a flash effect instead of the unrealistic one we have now. I found this old thread asking about the exact same thing I want to do, but nobody ever replied to it:

Does anyone know how to do this?

Hello ,
in case nobody noticed , Uranium effects mod have disabled ground lighting circus during bombs explosions
to create exactly that , flash .
It can be mostly seen during carpet ground bombing but when object is hit and exploding , land light is showing
the default extended timing of the light circle .
It's only fast flash effect for bombs explosions without hitting target and for aircraft ground crash explosion .

I actually did notice that about 30 minutes after my post. It looks great. I have been tweaking some of the effects files to customize my setup.

On a slightly similar note, i was wondering if there was anyway to get a light "glow" effect from the fire objects? When playing a night mission you can ad fire objects to add some immersion but they do not appear to have any illuminating effect, as in lighting up the local area.

Hi DaveOD06 Big Grin

that's all we were able to do about ground light explosion circle .
There are not known regular .eff files which can be edited to assign different light circle timings and size .
Maybe class files editing could be an answer , don't know .
At least someting was possible to be done about it , it's not perfect but it works with fast flash .

@ slipper ,
yeah , that would be nice Big Grin
We shall soon see what fires and objects illuminating immersion treat Oleg created in BoB:SoW
