Actuallt that was a built-in feature of B-29 in case of tail falling off, shut down right engines and you'll fall safely. In case of dangerous landing the 'helicopter maneuvre' makes you lose your consciousness.

I did helicoptering first time when i was playing online and somebody shot off rudder and elevator of tb-3 i was flying.
