Alice Cooper's "Theatre Of Death" Tour :
Just came home an hour ago and my ears aren't "ringing" anymore *phew*. But Ladies and Lads, what a show!
They culminated 40 years of "Alice Cooper" into 90 minutes, playing 23 songs from all decades, showing the
evolving process of the "Alice Cooper" character, including youth/mayhem/madness/death of this character,
including several scenes of toture and death, like beheading, hanging, stabbing or kicked around in a straight-jacket.
The master of "Shock-Rock" did it again and very well so!
Some of todays kids might laugh about it, but hey,
where can you find such a show in nowadays' acts - I bet Robbie Williams never got hanged on stage!
The most seriously interesting thing about the whole show are the cast of top musicians Cooper has with him.
Seems he's got two Solo-Guitarrist on the cast - the guys blasted the audience away during Alice's costume changeover,
playing synchronized in two differnt registers, then changing to different registers/styles and then changing roles from
Lead to Rhythm and vice versa. Also these guys had at least three (3) different sets of guitars, my guess is to reflect
the different decades the songs were originally written.
I'm no expert - I can't tell a Gibson from a Fender or an Ukulele, but the body shapes and colors caught my eyes
- and then I suddenly realized the different sounds of the more whining '70s guitars or more thrashing '80s guitars.
Dudes & Dudettes, this is as far off the topic one can get, but this is such a smashing show, if you have the chance to
see it, don't miss it!
