Well,
Sorry guys, but I think MODs, or more precisely MOD tools will simply broke the game.
I was ill at home at Sunday. It took me some google-ing, your forum search, and some basic java knowledge to make several hacks, which can completely ruin the online game! Last night I showed them to my squad mates and they all were terrified! Some of them said they are reluctant to play anymore, and these are guys I'm playing with for several years!
My point is that since it was so easy for me, it shall be easier for the majority of other players whith basic programming knowledge.... And the temptation of using hacks is something that most of them won't resist..
All these fancy MODs for russian planes with japanese cockpits and german gunners can't be a good trade off for the fair online play!
Sorry to say it, but I blame you for spoiling these great community!
So why don't you focus on something useful actually?! Why don't you try to create an anti cheating MOD? It may look like some MOD-pack, with all of the approved MOD in it, checked by some checksum by the wrapper.dll for example...
My point is that the tools for these mods are just too powerfull, to be given away freely. QTim or the one who is making them-Why don't you put some limits in them?
It was a fair game before. Now it's like a 3D shooter...
To be clear:
Anti-Cheating should be inside the MOD tools, inside the wrapper.dll or the patched il2fb.exe.
This way everybody who is using MODs will obey to its anti-cheating logic!
Till now I don't know of other tools of modifying the game.
QTim is rewriting the wrapper. I think he is honest guy and with some pressure on him he may implement such logic inside....
