yes but they aren't 32 bit ( no alpha and with some effects loss) and anyway , if author wants to offer such pack he can do it by himself .... and submit it via proper channels.

I just wanted to help because the author said he got no time....wont happen again Wink

(I had a slow pc and I know how bad it is when something nice is released but you cant use it because of low fps, so I wanted to provide an express solution)

The best winter map of the game, with contrasts between more and less snow-covered terrain.

Nothing to do with the dull monotony of other winter maps of the game.

Vyazma winter or Finland Gulf, would be precious, with these improvements

Superb work!!! I aded this map to QMB right now!!!

Well done mate

KICK ASS !!! Excellent work ! Talk about an appropriate gift for the season... Wink I am going to put those textures on every single winter map of the game. Farewell boring flat white plains.

A thousand thaks to you for this wonderful map !

Cheers

I think what LaRone was saying, was not make the dimension of the textures smaller..

He was referring to reducing the file size by four through indexing the color palette.

a TGA file in RGB color at 1024x1024 is about 4 MB

As far as I know the game doesn't read anything color wise above 256 colors.
So you are wasting a lot of memory.

If you INDEX the file down to 256 colors... keeping the dimension at 1024x1024

the resulting file size is only 1MB

I reduced several textures from the map to 256 colors and saw no loss in clarity.

YES !!!

All moders only should (when it is possible) use indexed TGA !!!!
A full of people find that MODS decrease FPS. It's important to do that. All my Hangar or fortification have better quality texture than Oleg's ones WITH a smallest size files.

the way i see it ..... it's better to have the best possible quality published

users with low/mid systems like me can resize files locally ( no quality loss)

and if you have them published resized those with high systems can not enlarge files without quality loss .

If you use a good converter, there is no loss.

All my objects are in indexed TGA. No-one who watch my hangars said : the texture are bad quality.

All aircraft bmp skin are indexed (256 colors). It's a shame to see a 16 millions colors building while an aircraft only have 256 colors.
Even high system can't see the difference.

But it 's OK : it's my point of view. Many people notice a FPS loss in using mods. It's time to think about this problem.
