It's a rainy day and therefore perfect for browsing Google Earth for desert arid regions. I thought to try a basic map of the Djibouti region, which was Vichy controlled during the early WWII years and afterwards had something to do with the Allied invasion of Abyssinia.
So another interesting 'completely forgotten' battlefield area. It's a beautiful landscape, with lots of red, purple and browns all intermingled. One spot that took my fancy, but which i wondered how it would turn out was the salt Asal Lake. The results were far better than I hoped and I thought I'd show some screenshots of the salt lake area.
A further totally unrelated bit of info according to Wiki, but which made me take notice nonetheless is that the original 'Planet of the Apes' was filmed here because of its otherworldly landscape.
