Ok, thank's to the help of Fly_Zo and ClockWatcer, I started the map creation, I decided to take a look to the Falklands/Malvinas map, for a fictional campaign in 1946. I decided this cause, the map is relatively empty, no trees, almost no cities and few houses. I got this with the data. But now? What more??
I don't know If the map is correct or not is a BMP with a size of 4804*5593 pixels, and I will really love to kill some water. Well hope to get ideas and help
Thank's
Mr Jolly do you think it would be a good idea to create a sticky called some thing like "Installation of Sound mod & Wrapper 101" and copy what Phillip wrote viewtopic.php?p=22599&highlight=#22599 seeing as there are one or two post this every week?

Hi everybody, i was thinking about a possible Tunisia map like here:
(The link is inoperative)
this map would be complementar (no competition) to Maraz's "enlarged" Malta project. My aim is to include all battelfields and airfields of the tunisian campaign from Bone in the west to Cape Bon, down to the Mareth line. maybe it could be nice to include also Pantelleria and some west sicilian airfields.
WIP's probably will be slow depending on available time but so i'll have more time to learn the tricks.
Your opinions?
p.s. i forgot to mention that it should be a full scale map.
I was just wondering- would it be possible to either make it so that you could have a different default skin for each squadron/group for different aircraft? i.e. the U.S. Navy "G" symbols in 1944-45 on the hellcats and corsairs, etc, or for all the different 8th AF markings, or to make it so these show up in the plane markings instead of just code letters (i.e. colored noses/rudders, etc)
^sorry if that doesn't make much sense. basically what I'm asking is can you make different default skins/markings (instead of squadron badges, etc) for different squadrons/groups?
I've just stepped into this MOD'ing arena recently and having a bit of difficulty getting up to speed before I start trying to enable MODs. There seems to be some confusing, perhaps conflicting, guidance in separate threads. Could someone please help an old man understand how to get started, with a step-by-step instruction?
Here's what I've found so far, which has me a bit confused:
In this thread, it says emphatically to first install wrapper.exe and then Eng_Sound_mod_Version_XXX:
(The link is inoperative)
However, in this thread, it says to first download/install Eng_Sound_mod OR MOD_Activator, and then install wrapper.exe
(The link is inoperative)
In this thread, it seems to say that the MOD Activator is essential to install MODs, but that the basic Eng_Sound_Mod must be installed before MOD Activator:
(The link is inoperative)
The relationship of the "MOD Activator" to the "wrapper.exe" doesn't seem to be addressed in the MOD Activator Sticky thread, but in the "wrapper" Sticky thread it says to install MOD Activator first...
Separately, no one seems to be able to explain the difference (advantage or necessity) between using "wrapper" versus using the very simple and user-friendly "JonesSoft Generic Mod Enabler" application (JSGME) . This thread (The link is inoperative), for example, about a 'sound mod switcher' seems to imply that JSGME can handle/manage every/all MODS, including the basic Eng_Sound_Mod(s); it makes no mention of either the MOD Activator or the "wrapper" application.
Then, however, in this thread in the IL2 MAPMODs Forum, it posts amazingly complex instructions which seems to 'merge' JSGME with..uhh..the "New" wrapper: (The link is inoperative)
I've seen scores upon scores of posts from people who've experienced difficulties getting their desired Mods installed/working. I'm trying to avoid, in advance, as many missteps as I can. There has to be a simper way of laying it all out for the True Newbie/Beginner...right?
Thanks for any help/clarification that can be offerred.
....
Is it possible to get rid of the unit emblems? IMHO they are to big and/or ugly!
Is there anyone working on the P-47 cockpit? It would be nice to get rid of that red seat and back.
