Have you ever wondered who first uttered the phrase

"You Gotta Be Shittin Me?"

Well, it just so
happens to have originated through the Father of Our
country, way back when George Washington was
crossing the Delaware river with his troops.

There were 33 (remember this number)
in Washington 's boat. It was extremely dark and
storming furiously and the water was tossing them about.

Finally, Washington grabbed Corporal
Peters (remember this name) and stationed him at the
front of the boat with a lantern. He ordered him to
keep swinging it, so they could see where theywere heading.

Corporal Peters, through driving
rain and cold, continued swinging the lantern back
and forth, back and forth.

Then a big gust of
wind and a wave hit and threw Corporal Peters and
his lantern into the Delaware . Washington and his
troops searched for nearly an hour trying to find
Corporal Peters, but to no avail. All of them felt
terrible, for the Corporal had been one of their favorites.

Sometime later, Washington and his
troops landed on the other side, wet and totally
exhausted. He rallied the troops and told them that
they must go on.

Another hour later, one of
his men said, 'General, I see lights ahead.' They
trudged toward the lights and came upon a huge house.

What they didn't know was that this
was a house of ill repute, hidden in the forest to
serve all who came.

General Washington
pounded on the door, his men crowding around him.

The door swung open, and much to his
surprise stood a beautiful woman..

A huge
smile came across her face, to see so many men
standing there.

Washington was the first to
speak, 'Madam, I am General George Washington and
these are my men. We are tired, wet, exhausted, and
desperately need warmth and comfort.'

Again, the Madam
looked at all the men standing there, and with a
broad smile on her face, said, 'Well, General, you
have come to the right place.
We can surely give you warmth and comfort.
How many men do you have?'

Washington
replied, 'Well, Madam, there are 32 of us without
Peters .'

And the Madam said, 'You gotta be shittin me.'

This is my first ship that am releasing for VSF Vehicle Simulator.
There is no engine to this ship other then to make a wood creaking sound so just turn on engine and bring up the throttle to hear the sound, she runs under wind power so you need to set the wind at 15 to 20 knots and she will start to move, you can bring the sails and jibs up and down please look at the VSF keys manual for this.
You might need to click on the photos to enlarge;

Ernst Hess – Jasta 28w
Ernst Hess got his pilot’s wings already by 1913, and in the same year enetred service with Luftschiffer Battalion Nr.3, from which he transferred to FFA3 in the
spring of 1914. In November, he was cleared for combat duty and was subsequently attached to FA9 on the Western Front. He continued to serve as a reserve
officer with FA62 and KEK Douai, where he was able to claim his first kill on January 5th, 1916. He later served with Fokkerstaffel 'C' (where he gained one victory),
Fokkerstaffel Sivry, Jasta 10 and Jasta 28w. By September 16, 1917, he increased his tally to fourteen kills. This was followed by a transfer to Jasta 19, where he
served as Staffelfuhrer. On October 30, 1917, he downed his seventeenth and final adversary. He was shot down and killed on Christmas Eve during combat with
the French Esc. N. 96. The illustrated aircraft is a reconstruction ofAlbatros D.III 204/16, in which Hess gained most of his victories (fourth to fourtheenth).

Oskar Müller – Jasta 12

Oskar Muller served with Jasta 12 from January, 1917, as its 'Offizier zur besonderen Verwendung', or 'Adjutant' (with some sources giving him the function of
technical officer). He served in the same capacity with Jasta 31 from June, 1918, operating at Remes. It is not known if he gained any aerial victories,
but it is necessary to bear in mind that serving as adjutant carried with it the responsibility of ensuring the smooth operations of the unit and administrative duties,
not just combat operations.

Flik 41/J, Passarella, February, 1918
Godwin Brumowski, with 39 kills, was the most successful Austro-Hungarian pilot. Often, his aircraft were adorned with colorful markings. This applies to aircraft 153.52, in which he downed
two opponents, and in which he was himself shot down. Red paint was applied over the lacquered natural surface. The application was fairly thick, and it gave the impression of a monotone
color application. Onto this background were applied light colored "tresses". The skull became a personal marking of Brumowski’s airplanes in later stages of the war.

The Last Zero Fighter – Firsthand Accounts from WWII Japanese Naval Pilots
By Dan King
Pacific Press – 2012
ISBN 978-1468178807

The book is 292 pages long, divided into 5 Chapters (each one devoted to one man) and contains 79 pictures and drawings.

The men featured are (summaries are from Historical Consulting | The Last Zero Figher):

1 - Kaname Harada: Worked his way out of the fleet Navy to become a fighter pilot. He is the last surviving member of the air group that bombed the USS Panay outside of Nanking in December 1937. He flew from the Soryu at the Battle of Wake Island, then at Midway claiming few U.S. Navy torpedo bombers, and was later shot down at Guadalcanal. He ended the war training future Kamikaze pilots who were slated to fly rocket fighters into US warships.

2 - Isamu Miyazaki: Served in the surface fleet where he traveled to Egypt and Paris before the war, later worked on a river boat in China before making it into the Naval Air Service in 1936. He was a wingman of Kanichi "One-Wing" Kashimura in the sky above Yokosuka on April 18, 1942 as the Doolittle Raiders attacked Japan. He fought US fighters in the 252nd Air Group under Lt Suganami and then Lt. Naoshi Kanno at Rabaul; then Guadalcanal; the reverse defense of Wake Island; then fought against B-24 bombers and then the US invasion of Tarawa from his base in the Marshall Islands; he fought as a member of the Hachiman Butai in the skies over Iwo Jima and then assigned to Minoru Genda's air group of Aces, the 343rd Air Group for the defense of the homelands. He witnessed the atomic bombing of Nagasaki

3 - Haruo Yoshino: Joined the Navy as a teenager and was the commander of a torpedo plane from the Kaga that dropped a fish into the USS Oklahoma at Pearl Harbor. He was in the initial invasion of Rabaul and the attack on Port Darwin, Australia. He was later in one of the seven infamous search planes that failed to locate the Americans at the Battle of Midway and was aboard the Kaga when it was attacked and sunk. He went through Truk Lagoon, fought at Guadalcanal, Santa Cruz, in the air above Iwo Jima and Leyte Gulf in the Philippines.

4 - Toshimitsu Imaizumi: Joined the Navy's pre-flight academy as a teenager and became a fighter pilot stationed on Hainan Island where he fought against B-24s and P-38s before being sent to Taiwan and with the 254th Air Group to Mabalacat Airfield the Philippines. He witnessed the first official Kamikaze flight taken by Lt. Yukio Seki. He himself flew Kamikaze escort duty, and then eventually was assigned as a Kamikaze pilot himself in the defense of Okinawa.

From an American perspective it was interesting to read the story from the other side of the war. Imo, The book is a little light on the "getting to know the men" side of the story but can't be beat from a detail "Where were you and when" side of the story. If you don't want to buy a copy I would definitely see if your local library has it.
