Forum: Il2 Skins, Missions & Campaign DISCUSSION
- Replies (3)
I'm having an issue with a skin I'm modding, this is what my skin looks like in gimp which looks fine to me while in gimp, but when it's on the airplane in il2 I am having this issue why is the U.S. ARMY backward and on the other side? it should only be on one side and readable
I really didn't want to make a new thread for this (especially considering the fact that the mods in question are old as hell), but after doing a quick search, I couldn't find anything regarding this.
I've been using the SAS Modact 3.06 on IL2 version 4.101m, and I've been trying to get the old PT Boat and the Jeep/Kubelwagen mods to work, but I haven't had any luck with them. I found a certain modified Diff_FM mod from a well-known member named Benitomuso, but apparently that file only works with DBW and UP3.
So, is there any way to get these two mods to work with a Modact 3.6 install on 4.101m? Any response would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
Several years ago this topic was quite popular, especially on russian part of il-2 community. But I haven't seen anything about it since 2009, so, natural question appears: is there any new tool to control il-2 without joystick?
I am flying with keyboard for a year now, because some circumstances don't allow use of joystick. It is not as difficult as some people say, but still - far from convenient. Tried to install programs like PPJoy and Jmouse, but enormous complexity of configuring them for the needs of virtual piloting and lack of knowledge prevented me from succeeding. Also, most of tutorials were written for vintage versions of software (mostly WinXP).
Is there any relatively new, simple and quick way to control il-2 with a mouse, without sacrificing your computer? Maybe a mod was made for this purpose? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi,
I have an opinion on these issues, but I feel that it might be interesting to get a discussion going about the state of games and simulations in more categorical terms.
Will OpenGL survive as a viable option for games and simulations in the long term? Will it see use in the most popular computer games in years to come?
Will Java resurge in games with a boost from Google, Android, and others? Will the mobile technology boom be enough to influence such a surge in Java use for games?
What will be the trends in the foreseeable future?
(Notice how I avoided asking specifically about DirectX and C++ ... nyuk, nyuk, nyuk! )

501 squadron was formed in 1929 as a Special Reserve unit with day bomber duties. In 1936 the squadron was transferred to the Auxiliary Air Force and was converted to a fighter unit two years later. The squadron was equipped with Hurricanes in March 1939 and in May 1940 flew fighter cover for the Advanced Air Striking Force in France. The squadron was based in the south throughout the Battle of Britain, flying variously from Croydon, Middle Wallop, Gravesend and Kenley.

No. 311 Squadron was formed at Honington, Suffolk, on 29th July, 1940, from Czech Air Force personnel who had formerly served in France and had escaped to this country at the time of the French collapse. Flying Wellington bombers and forming part of No. 3 Group, it first went into action on the night of 10th/11th September, 1940, and continued in the bomber role (being based at East Wretham, satellite of Honington, from mid-September onwards) until late April, 1942, when it was transferred to coastal command and Aldergrove and given a general-reconnaissance role. By then, it had operated 150 times, flown 1,021 operational sorties, and dropped more than 1,300 tons of bombs on enemy targets; these included Berlin, Bonn, Boulogne, Brest, Cologne, Flushing, Essen, Kiel, Paris and Turin. Shortly after joining Coastal Command No. 311 took part (as did certain other units of "Coastal") in the third 1,000-bomber raid, on Bremen; on this occasion its Wellingtons operated from Birchan Newton.
Hi Guys
All Aircraft are marked with individual Aircraft and serial codes based on actual aircraft used with 311 Squadron.
Have also added T_KX RAF (serial L7842) was in service with the German Luftwaffe, probably based at the test center at Rechlin, circa 1941.
L7842 was delivered in mid-1940. It was lost on 6 February 1941 while in service with No. 311(Czech) Squadron, RAF, while on a mission to Boulogne (France). It was forced to land, and captured intact.
Have Fun
