MrJolly, please don't take this the wrong way. I am NOT complaining. I love flying the Turkey - porked FM and all. I just want to ask about your reasons for choosing the B-239 cockpit over the F2A-2. I suspect it was because of the reflecting gunsight in the B-239. I am wondering if it would be possible to use the F2A-2 cockpit and swap out the two sights? I also realize that there might be a problem with this idea because of the different functions of the SHF F1 between the two cockpits, even if the swap could be made. Maybe it might have had something to do with the windows at the floor of the F2A-2's cockpit?
The reason I bring it up is because of the canopy not opening on the B-239, and the difference in the instrumentation between the Finnish B-239 and the uS Navy F2A-2. The ability to open the canopy and remove the canopy frame work from the view is not only a huge leap for an individual's SA, but it also has a great deal to do with immersion, for me at least.
I am also wondering if, had you used the F4F cockpit, the vertically adjustable seat position would have come with it. This would help some folks a great deal in getting back aboard the carrier These are just questions That have occurred to me while flying the Turkey. I am very happy with it, if not ecstatic! So, please don't misconstu my questions as complaints. You all have totally reinvented this five year old game, and I'd be willing to bet that Oleg will realize additional sales of his baby as a result of your efforts!
I have a idea for a realistic scale England to Normandy map. As it is now its hard to make a new map bigger, but i was thinking, Why not use the Gulf of Finland map, and edit it to have England at top and Normandy at the bottom. The Gulf of Finland map now is close to the distance between england and normandy in real life.
This would be great for The Battle of Britain missions or 1943-1944 Escort/Ground Missions
Anyone else want something like this? If i get interested enough i may do this myself.
It's apparent that modded and unmodded games can coexist peacefully on dogfight servers (even if the game owners might not), but what about coops? If a coop mission contains a new flyable, does everyone who joins need that mod? Can an unmodded game even connect to a server hosted by a modded game?
DeviceLink, and the use of a second computer to display a virtual instrument cluster on a secondary screen has always intrigued me. I even built a 'simpit' cockpit/desk, incorporating a 2nd monitor where the instrument panel would be in placement.. but, DeviceLink is disabled, for Online play.
Oleg Maddox justified this in saying that it was a possible 'cheat'... I really don't understand how or why this would be, in this particular application? Could it be a 'lag' issue (similar to the printscreen cheat?) with older computers - but one would think that processor and network power has caught up to the point where a 'lag' issue would no longer really be an issue there..
What say all of you? Anyone else using/wanting to use DeviceLink online and see an issue with this?
Anyone found any code bits or 'switches' in the decripted files to re-enable DeviceLink when Online?
Hi!
I admit it is not a very useful idea, but I anyway post it.
May be a challenge for modders...
We know that several aircraft were equipped with cameras; if I take off in my spit...
...so equipped (skin on the MW skins pack)...
and I arrive at that moment
I push a button (for example alt+PrtSc) I'll start to film, so when I'll look the ntrk. file I'll direclty see like this:
similar with mosquito (skin by eaf92keets, on "fighters over israel" campaign)
pushing now alt + PrtSc (or another button)
so when I'll watch ntrk. I'll see my recon over enemy territory
Would that be possible?
Sorry for my horrible english

All this chatter about 4.05 and 4.08, can soemone clarify what enhancements have 4.08 over 4.05? flyables, maps etc please? I'm a bit lost here.
About 4.05, will be possible to add planes from scratch?
HI all,
Any chance of altering the tail on P-47 would be nice to have it for late war Japan.

Please everybody use http://www.filefront.com/ for sharing files - its much less hassle & faster than other share systems
click the button 'Add File'
use browse button to navigate your HD & find the file you want to share & select it
wait for it to upload your file & it will then direct you to another page with a blue link
you can either highlight & copy the blue link
or
Right click the blue link with mouse & select properties & then highlight the link in address section & copy that -
easy !
i saw a link some place for a mod that removes the map frame darned if i can find it agian.
anyone got a link for it. thanks
Guys,
I have all the mods - gr8 stuff BTW - but am still plagued with the Russian load-up screen when opening 46. Is there an english version out there somewhere?
