This is a simple way to record only when you are firing your guns.

Step 1: Download and install Xpadder.

http://www.freewarefiles.com/xpadder_program_21789.html

Step 2,3,etc...:

After setting up the Xpadder software and your joystick/controller, choose what button you want to set as your "Start Recording" key by clicking on a square (Any button you press will glow green on Xpadder screen). A keyboard will pop up on your screen, press "Advanced" on the bottom right of the window. On the "Assignment" tab, press the white square and press the button that is your Recording key, (if it is multiple keys ie Ctrl+R simply press "Ctrl" on the first square and "R" on the second square.) Then, press "Add Pause" and "Add Release Zone" respectively, then add the key(s) again in the square(s). You can press "Test", you can see if it works. Finally press ok, load up IL-2, now everytime you fire your guns you should see "Recording Started" and whenever you release the trigger you should see "Recording Stopped".

DON'T FORGET TO SAVE YOUR PROFILE

Günther Specht (13 November 1914 – 1 January 1945) was a German Luftwaffe fighter ace during World War II.
Specht joined the heavy fighter wing (German: Zerstörergeschwader 26) (ZG 26) "Horst Wessel" in early 1939. The unit was initially equipped with Messerschmitt Bf 109s and later with the Bf 110. In 1939 he was wounded by an RAF tail gunner and blinded in one eye. He returned to active duty and was shot down six times during the war. After his recovery in 1939, he chose to return to active service but was shot down again in France and was seriously injured. These injuries kept him grounded for the next two years. In 1942 he returned to active duty with 1st Fighter Wing (Jagdgeschwader 1 Oesau; JG 1)). He was then made Group Commander (Gruppenkommandeur) of II Group of JG 11 (II./JG 11) and promoted to Major. He was appointed as Wing Commander (Geschwaderkommodore) of JG 11 and was listed as missing in action during the attack on the Allied bases at Asch and Ophoven as part of Operation Bodenplatte. He was posthumously promoted to lieutenant colonel (German: Oberstleutnant) and was recommended for the Oak Leaves (German: Eichenlaub) to the Knight's Cross, which was refused for unknown reasons.
Specht was considered as one of the best fighter leaders during the war and was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (German: Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes). During his combat career he was credited with 34 enemy aircraft destroyed, all downed on the Western Front.

This map covers the area from Minsk to Brest. It is based partly on aerophotos made during WWII, contains about sixty airfields, which location was made on the basis of authentic documents of that era. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find any source showing anything about other than grass airfields, so the present date concrete ones, even if of attractive appearance, were removed in the course of the map creation. The airfields are made using ZUTI's Friction mod.
The map is not yet completely populated, the main attention was devoted to some landmarks such as larger towns. Newertheless, it is considered to be finished to some extent, further patches might follow as required. Especially it concerns the winter version, since the present one is about the summer time.
It is supposed that the map could be used for 1939 to 1944 war campaigns, and to some extent, after removing most of the airfields, to 1914-1920 years.

The compatibility of the map was tested with the following versions of Il2 Sturmovik 1946:

HSFX 4.01, HSFX 5.01, SASmodact3.06, UP3RC4, DBW 1.71,and HSFX 6.01.

The map can be downloaded here :

The readme file there involded contains all the necessary installation guide.
