Hi pilots!
I´ve retextured the Kursk map with photographic textures.
I would really like to thank for 352nd VFG. I tried to make big grain fields (unsuccesfully) and their textures are wonderfull!!!
Thanks to Martin for his Martins bases.

I made these adjustments:
Maloarchangelsk airfield - terrain fix, now you can take-off in both directions (this bug was reported to Daidalos team and we can expect fix in default map too)
Orel airfield - little terrain fix, now is concrete segments continuing better
Krom airfield - terrain fix, now you can take-off in both directions
and next little terrain adjustments...

Trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cUYsogo ... ature=plcp
I hope you will like this map, there are only the best shots in this trailer!Smile My work isn´t perfect and I learn it permanently...

Link for download:
http://www.mediafire.com/?8ip6vo2b1n0emmm

Instalation:
Copy the content of MODS folder into your Sturmovik MODS folder
If you want to have only retextured (rewritten) version, don´t add any new line to all.ini file and delete Kursk_RRR folder.
If you want to save map as new, add line "Kursk_RRR Kursk_RRR/load.ini" to all.ini file and delete Kursk folder-now you have default map Kursk and new version (called Kursk_RRR)
You will need Hangar MOD and Hangar MOD2 (Its old mods). I hope it include all ultrapacks and HSFX and so on...
If you don´t have it, you can´t save any mission in campaign.

I really recommend to fly with Cloudtype=2 and higher in your .mis files (rewrite it!)
Cloudtype=1,2 - looks good in the morning, when is fog over terrain
Cloudtype=3,4 - best weather for this map, with clouds and without rain.
Cloudtype=5 - rain (why not?)
Cloudtype=6 - thunderstorm (why not?)

Have a nice flight!

Bombbaydoors mod use to allow external views only when on ground or dead etc with the appropriate entry in the .mis file. These don't seem to work with HSFX 6. Am I wrong on this? Will they be added later if they're missing now?

If you like the old Rainbow 6 and Ghost recon games back in time when they where still real tactical shooters before the Advanced Warfighter and Vegas stuff turned them into run and gun arcadic shooters, this might be interesting for you: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/670 ... h?ref=card

Does anyone have any documentation on all the features in the FMB? There are things probably from 4.11 but I can't find full explainations for everything. Things such as runway lights, radar, etc.

My old scenerios that had runway lights now have them on all the time, not just when requested.

Also, Objects....where is the static.ini file for HSFX6.0/IL24.11 used by the objectviewer program?

I am a bit disappointed that there is no "flash" of light at impact of bombs in CloD. IL-2:1946 UltraPack (and earlier mods) had this effect down really well.

As a result, this video would be more effective with more day light ....but was worth a shot.

AIRSTRIKEpro v2.3

Accurate levelbombing is indeed not too easy and there are some very good tutorials on how to make bombing runs and how to use bombsights, but since wind found its way into our favourite sim (v4.10.1m and following) accurate levelbombing became even more challenging.
I tried to solve most of the upcoming difficulties by writing a small application for the display of the Saitek X52pro joystick that is capable of computing correct dropping-angles and sideslip-corrections even when there is wind.

Update to version 2.3

- AIRSTRIKEpro communicates with IL2 1946 via DeviceLink. It receives IAS and altitude directly from the game, no need to enter these values manually anymore with this feature enabled (optional).
- Integrated simple autopilot, no restrictions, it can control every aircraft in the game (two modes: fighter or bomber)
- Speedbar, fuel status and engine temperature/setup information added
- option to choose units, select between (km/h, m), (mph, ft) and (kn, ft)
- option to temporarily disable the DeviceLink connection
- Clutch button LED indicates connection status
- reworked page-design
- no console window anymore but a Tray-Icon instead (the bomb Smile )

This is the current page layout:

Download: AIRSTRIKEpro v2_3.zip

The scroll-wheel on the left lets you scroll through the pages, the scrollwheel on the right lets you increase or decrease the values shown in the active line. The active line can easily be spotted by the arrow "->" in front of it. Pressing the right scroll-wheel (select) lets you jump through the lines of a page and navigate to subpages.
Have a look into the ReadMe to learn more about the application and how to use it on bombing missions.

Add these two lines at the end of your IL-2 1946 conf.ini:

[DeviceLink]
port=3333

If you wish to use DeviceLink online (some important information is not sent by DeviceLink when playing online) please activate the 'DeviceLinkOnline Mod by Fireball' which is already included in the download.
The application supports all bombers in stock game (v4.11.1m), HSFX 6 and UP 3.
The pages #4, #5 and #6 are optional, have a look into the file startup.ini to customise the program to your likings.

The tool does not interfere with the Saitek Programming Software, so you can use it along with any joystick-profile you created for IL2 1946. The tool will just create a few new pages on the display.
Depending on what driver-version for the X52pro you currently use it might be necessary to update your drivers to the latest version.
You can find the latest Saitek X52pro drivers and SD6 programming software here: http://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php

Known Issues and Workaround

There are reports of the display showing strange behaviour when having the X52pro plugged to an USB-hub. This is a known issue, but saitek does not fix it (they can't or they don't want to...).
(For me) the issue was solved by plugging the stick directly to the computer.

There are also reports of the display not showing anything after starting AIRSTRIKEpro. This has probably to do with 64Bit operating systems (like Win7 64Bit) and the “Saitek DirectOutput Service” not being started correctly after your computer started.
Should you not see anything on the display of your X52pro after starting AIRSTRIKEpro please do the following (once):

1. Restart your computer and do not start AIRSTRIKEpro
2. Reinstall the latest drivers for your X52pro
3. Right click on the task bar at the bottom of your screen and select "Task-Manager"
4. Select the tab "Services"
5. At the bottom right, you will see a button "Services...", click on that button
6. A window will open, scroll down and find "Saitek DirectOutput". Right click on it and choose "properties"
7. Again a window will open, in the middle of it you will see "Startup type:" and to the right you will see a pull down menu.
Click on the arrow on the right edge and choose "Automatic (Delayed start)". Click the button:"OK"
8. Close the Task-Manager and restart your computer

After your system rebooted there will now be a 10 - 15 seconds delay before your X52pro display will work properly, so just wait a few seconds after your computer started before starting AIRSTRIKEpro.

Improvement suggestions, bug report and critique welcome!

Hello everybody!

Those of you using the HSFX modpack probably have noticed the control panel of the Automatic Flight Control Equipment C-1 (AFCE C-1) autopilot system in the cockpit of the Consolidated B-24 Liberator (right above the throttle quadrant).
If not, here's a screenshot Wink

The original control panel looks like this:

Unfortunately this piece of equipment did not make it into the game, just the ominous 'level stabilizer' is implemented.
Well, here is my replica of the C-1 autopilot system:

Version 1.1
[Image: AFCE.gif]
(animated gif)

Version 2.1
[Image: AFCE_C_1_v2.jpg]

Many thanks to 'Sita' who allowed me to use his textures of the control panel. The C-1 version 2.1 is, except for the new textures, identically equal to the version 1.1. Your monitor needs to have a vertical resolution of at least 800 pixels to display the control panel correctly.

Download (mediafire):
AFCE C-1 v1_1.zip
AFCE C-1 v2_1.zip

The C-1 communicates with IL-2 1946 via DeviceLink and can be used on the same computer the game is running on or on a second computer in your local network (a laptop for example). Some important parts of DeviceLink-output are deactivated while playing online. If you wish to use the C-1 online you need the mod DeviceLink_2_2 by Fireball (already included in the AFCE C-1 zip-archive).
All switches and turning knobs on the C-1 control panel are fully functional and animated and can be operated by mouse or freely assigned hotkeys.

This autopilot is, just like the original one from 1943, capable of holding a straight and level flight and can perform coordinated turns without intervention of the pilot. The replica of the C-1 is not limited to the B-24 and B-17, it can be used to control all bombers we have in the game! Since the C-1 is designed to assist bomberpilots it can not be used to control fighter aircraft. A fighter in this sense is a single engined, single seated airplane.

Have a look into the manual to learn more about the C-1 autopilot and how to use it on bombing missions.

Tested on 4.10.1m and 4.11.1m. Suggestions and critique welcome!
