Hi guys,
I started having a little play with the FMB editor with the aim of maybe making some non-super detailed maps. (I'll leave the outstanding maps to the experts - I'm a skinner at heart )
I've managed to create a map thhat has my own heights, water and textures, but I can't work out how to modify the map_f. tga - distant landscapes appears as the old one still. How do I go about generating a new one?
Secondly, I use Photoshop 7.01 and I can't seem to find the RGB values for greyscale images. It gives me info on '%' and CMYK values, but no RGB (at least not in the single-digit format).

I downloaded the files and followed directions. I placed the Hawaii_ffb file in the il2/files/maps as well as the .ini additional line. I also placed the items in the filelist. When I open FMB, no Hawaii_ffb map.

Hi guys I've heard a lot of people talking about making mods to put static aircraft on carriers by moving them up and down and stuff, would it be possible to make a mod so that you can raise and lower all objects?
You know I'm a little bit dissapointed about the new planes in '46. I tought i would be a better selection of planes. I searched for prototype and "drawing-board" planes long before 46 and even PF. When i tried the expansion first I thought it's awesome -it is like the other IL2's-, but I realised that only few new planes are there. I know It's yelling around and there are the new campaigns,

Can panel dials be moved between a/c ? I'd love to swap english dials to the Blenheim cockpit to replace the russian ones - is this possible ?
Used to be great fun in CFS and I was a dab hand at it so would love a go here !!

This removes the dorsal fin from all D5 models as the dorsal fin was added from the D10 onwards. This change doesn't affect the D20 as it uses a separate model. No change has been made to the flight model.

This now uses the latest mod format. Just extract the file to your IL2 root directory. Its that easy...
To delete, just go into the Mods folder (found in your IL2 root directory) and delete the P51D5 No Dorsal Fin folder
Why is modding new maps, better skinned cockpits, gunsights etc, bad, considering everyone using them already bought the game, and the creators are not making any particular profit out of their work, that they offer for download free?
And how is this related to the cheaters, since no one is even allowed to discuss FM changes in this site?
I mean it seems to me that the cheaters would have found a way anyway without any help from the guys over here. You should see what some people say about this site... It's rather bewildering.

If you have an abnormous GUNSITE as we have in Italian planes is it possible to reduce its size in order to have a more realistic gunsite?
IF it is possible : can you describe the process with an example ?

Hello All. I reckon we all can see that many of the 3D objects are rather out of scale, comparing one to another. In many cases I would say this is annoying, rather than limiting.
However, in other cases it is a real sim problem. I would suggest that in my view the relative size of aircraft carriers, for example, certainly impedes the simulation. Is it possible, therefore (I wonder), to adjust the scale of such objects as ships (carriers)? This would greatly assist flight deck operations, for a start, and probably allow for static aircraft and such like.
Has anyone attempted such a thing?
