(a)... The original unchanged il2..... the files.sfs directs the game to look for
planes/objects/maps etc. in the appropriate sfs files section
(b)... The modded game using the old system...... the new files.sfs directed the game to look in
the new 'Files' folder ....as directed by the filelist..... and for anything not changed it carries on to
look in the default location
©... The new mod system with a wrapper......tells the game to look in the new MODS
folder......if not found there...then look in the filelist and 'Files' folder....or in the default location
So when we made a new map in (b).........when asked to load the map in the FMB or in play by
the mission file........ it looked in the filelist first....if it found it there....it went to the
Files/maps/maps_all.ini which directed it to the correct map name folder for details......... if not in
the filelist it went to the default location
A new map in ©........ it looks in the MODS folder...in the maps folder (if there is one) and then
into the correct map folder as directed by the maps_all.ini in the maps folder............otherwise in
the old filelist and Files folder (if we haven't yet transferred it to the new MODS folder)........or in
the default location
Hi all,
The Ar 234 bomber has the rear facing periscope, but the stock rear view is only accessible by switching using the shift+F1 command.
Now, with 6DOF it is possible to look right into the periscope while still in forward cockpit view. At the moment there is a static "sky" colour only visible, no rear view.
Any chance a rear view could be put in that position?
In the filelist, there are com.maddox.il2.ai. files listed. How does one find them in all the SFS files.
I'm interested in finding out if I can reset the min alt for AI back to what it was a couple patches back (it was upped from zero or near zero to 140m, which FUBARs rather a lot offline).

Arguments abounded when this sim was released regarding the laser-like straightness of the tracer. I'm sure Oleg is right in that it's camera shake but it looks and feels great when the tracer's jumping all over the place - think of B17II and also WOV. Any thoughts?

~S~ all . im very happy to have this bomber/sound mod installed and my hats off to all those that have developed this .. i am curious though as to the B29 gunnery .. when is there a ball turret for it going to come out?? or is there already and i just havent spotted it yet??? also i wonder on the PBY Nomad.. doesnt seem to have gunnery at all???

Is anyone working on a V-1 and V-2 Flying Bomb? I know we have the Jap one but I always liked the other one better.......
Is it possible for one of the many talented people here to adjust the bombs on all bombs? No not a increase in anything, but a cosmetic effect upon detonation.
Unless its a fire bomb, a 1,000lb US fragmentation or HE bomb doesnt emit any fire. You've all see the footage time again, of large grey/black smoke puffs, but no fire seen at all. Yes there are fires from secondaries, but not from the bomb itself.
So it it doable to spruce up and make il2's bomb hits look more realistic?

Ok guys, its been 8 months since I turned on the game. To make it a little faster for me instead of sifting through countless posts, where do I start updating? The PTO stuff is looking real promising and I'd like to get started.

I see the link leads to a required download site for Excel. I downloaded and installed Excel, but I can't seem to get at the link to actually download the conversion chart.
